quittor (kwit´or)

A fistulous tract leading from the coronet to the lateral cartilage of the horse, due to an injury, followed by bacterial infection and later by massive necrosis of cartilage and other tissues; the necrotic process may involve the joint capsule. [ME. quetaur, a boiling]
