vasoconstriction (va´so-kon-strik´shun, vas´o-)

Narrowing of the blood vessels.
active v. reduced caliber of a vessel caused by increased tonus in the smooth muscle in its walls.
passive v. reduced caliber of a vessel caused by decreased intraluminal pressure.
